What We Believe

What we believe and teach is rooted in God's Word — The Bible. We know it is perfect and never changes so we know we can put our hope and trust in it.

  • We believe that the Bible is God's true inspired Word and is without error. All of our preaching and teaching is based only on the Bible. Through His Word He reveals to us who He is and what He has done for us.

  • At the beginning of time, God created heaven and earth and all creatures. He did this in six days. He spoke his almighty word to create all things. He made everything out of nothing. But man and woman are God’s special creation.

  • We are all by nature sinners (Romans 3:23). We are unable to and have failed to live up to God's absolutely perfect standards. Since we fail, we deserve God's very real and very horrible punishment of hell.

  • Because of God’s amazing love for you with no strings attached, He sent His Son, Jesus (John 3:16). Jesus lived the perfect life that you can't and died for you in your place! Through faith in your Savior, you are washed clean of all your sins by the blood of Jesus that He shed on the cross. Because of Jesus' sacrifice you have forgiveness of sins and a sure hope of eternal life with your loving God in heaven (John 3:36)!

  • Jesus Christ is the Savior of everyone. He is the eternal Son of God, equal to the Father and the Holy Spirit. He is also the son of the Virgin Mary. He became man to redeem all people. Taking our place, he lived a perfect life keeping the law of God for us. He also died as our innocent substitute on the cross to pay a price sufficient for everyone’s sin.

  • Baptism is a holy act instituted by God. Using water and God’s Word it offers and gives the forgiveness of sins, spiritual life, and eternal salvation. It is meant for young and old, including children. Infants also are sinful and therefore need the spiritual rebirth brought about through baptism.

  • Holy Communion is a holy act instituted by Christ. Together with bread and wine we receive Jesus’ true body and blood. In this special meal Jesus gives the forgiveness of sins, strengthens our faith, and gives eternal salvation to all who believe. Only people who repent of their sins and receive proper instruction in the Christian faith should be admitted to this sacrament.
